How to train a puppy to use a pee pad?

Dogs usually have the habit of smelling and circling when they excrete, but they do not like the smell of urine, but to leave their own smell. If you use newspapers or disposable urine pads for training, dogs will feel that they will be taken away by the owner as soon as they leave the smell, which will make them not know where to pee. In addition to smelling the smell, dogs also like the feeling of the soles of their feet touching the ground, so many dogs like to pee on the cloth.

1. Before training the dog to use the pee pad, you should first circle a training area and let it move in this area. Put bowls, toys, beds, etc. on one side of the training area, and put deodorant diapers on the other side, and use the characteristic that the dog does not excrete in the sleeping place to induce it to use the urine pad.

2. If it is a young dog, you can first spread the urine mat in the isolation area, let it find the right position first, then gradually reduce the area, and finally remove the isolation area, leaving only the urine mat. It should also be noted that as the size of the dog increases, the choice of the urine pad must also be changed. The size of the dog's urine pad should also increase accordingly, otherwise it may not be able to urinate well on the urine pad.

3. When the dog urinates in the right place, we can let it come out and praise it. If it is wrong, we can still limit their range of activities. During training, it should be properly induced and encouraged to go to a place with a urine pad. Praise them when they walk to the urine pad, encourage them to excrete in the urine pad, praise the dog after excretion, give some snacks as a reward, and let them out for activities.
